Our Kitchen

What's for dinner, answered from what you already have.

Every night, the same decision, at the exact hour you have the least left in you. You need to shop, you're too tired, and dinner becomes takeout again.

I built this for my own family, and it's the thing I open at 5 o'clock. It knows our recipes and what's in our kitchen, and it works out โ€” right then โ€” what we can actually make tonight.

You're one of the first families outside mine to use it. Thank you for that. โ€” Megan

What it does

๐Ÿ“–
Your recipes, all in one place
The ones on index cards, the ones saved in your phone, the ones you only know by heart. Type one in, paste a link, or take a photo of a recipe card and it reads it for you.
๐Ÿงบ
It knows what's in your kitchen
Snap a photo of a fridge shelf or scan a grocery receipt and everything gets put away for you. No typing out a pantry list.
๐Ÿณ
It decides what you can cook tonight
Open it at 5pm and it sorts your recipes by what you can actually make right now โ€” no store run, no scrolling. That's the whole point of it.
๐Ÿ›’
And it handles the shopping part
Plan the week, send what's missing to a grocery list that sorts itself by aisle, then check prices at your store before you go.

Getting started โ€” about five minutes

1
Open it on your phone
Go to ourkitchen.family in your phone's browser. That's the whole app โ€” nothing to download.
2
Sign in with your email
Type your email and tap "Send me a sign-in link," then open that email on the same phone and tap the link. No password to invent. (You can set one later under Account if you'd rather.)
3
Put it on your home screen
Tap the share button in your browser, then "Add to Home Screen." Now it opens like a normal app, and you'll actually use it.
4
Add three recipes you really cook
Three is enough to make it useful. Paste a link, photograph a recipe card, or type one in. Don't curate โ€” pick the boring weeknight ones.
5
Tell it what's in your kitchen
Fastest way: scan a grocery receipt, or photograph one fridge shelf. Rough is completely fine โ€” you can fix anything it gets wrong, and it gets better as you go.
6
Open "Cook" when you're hungry
That's the payoff. It'll show what you can make right now, and what you're one ingredient away from.

Questions people ask

What does it cost?
Nothing โ€” and nothing later, either. Megan will charge eventually, because the AI part costs real money, but the families helping build it keep everything free.
Can anyone see my recipes?
No. Your household is the only one who can see your recipes and your kitchen โ€” not other families, and not Megan browsing around from her side.
Is it finished?
No, and that's why you're here. Things will be rough or missing. Telling her about them is the whole job.
What if I get stuck?
Inside the app, go to Helpers โ†’ ๐Ÿ’ฌ Tell us and type what happened. Two words is a fine message. It goes straight to Megan.
